Valencia Marathon 2026

The Valencia Marathon features a fast, flat, and scenic single-loop course starting near the City of Arts and Sciences, which finishes with a dramatic run over water in front of the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum. With minimal elevation and wide roads, it’s ideal for personal bests. Runners pass iconic landmarks such as the Mestalla Stadium, Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Torres de Serranos, and the historic city center, all while enjoying lively crowd support and vibrant city views.

Getting to Valencia
Valencia Airport (VLC): Known as Manises Airport, it is located just 8 km (5 miles) west of the city center and is the main gateway for international visitors.
• Metro: The quickest way into the city is by Metrovalencia. Lines 3 and 5 connect the airport to central stations such as Xàtiva and Colón in around 20 minutes, costing about $5-$6 (€4–€5).

• Bus: Public bus Line 150 runs from the airport to the city center in 30–40 minutes, with regular departures throughout the day.

• Taxi: Taxis are available directly outside arrivals, with a typical journey to central Valencia taking 15–20 minutes and costing around $24-$30 (€20–€25). Ride-hailing services like Cabify and Bolt are also widely used.

• Train: For onward travel, Valencia Joaquín Sorolla Station offers high-speed AVE train connections to cities such as Madrid and Barcelona.

Getting around Valencia
• Metro: The Metrovalencia network is fast, clean, and efficient, connecting key areas of the city and nearby beaches. It’s ideal for travelling quickly between the center, the old town, and the marathon start/finish zones.

• Cycling & Walking: Valencia is one of Europe’s most cycle-friendly cities, with over 150 km of bike lanes and a public bike-share scheme called Valenbisi. Many of the main attractions are also easily walkable.

• Taxi: Taxis are plentiful and relatively affordable.

Today is arrival day – please check in to your chosen hotel. Our Sports Tours reps will be there to welcome you and provide support throughout the weekend. In the evening, join us for welcome drinks – a great chance to meet the team and your fellow runners!

After breakfast, join us for a relaxed 5 km (3.1 miles) shakeout run through the scenic streets of Valencia – a great way to get your legs moving before race day. Afterwards, we’ll host a pre-race briefing to answer any questions and ease any nerves, before a sightseeing tour to the race expo to collect your bib and soak up the atmosphere.

Today is race day! Join thousands of runners at the start line, ready to take on the Valencia Marathon. You will take a shuttle bus with your Sports Tours reps to the start line, and a bus will also be waiting to pick you up from the finish area to transport you back to the hotel. In the evening, join us for post-race celebrations and toast to your achievement with your fellow runners and the Sports Tours team!
