Itinerary
DAY 1 – ARRIVAL DAY
Please make your own travel arrangements to Rome. Once you have arrived at your hotel, our Sports Tours team will be available to assist with checking in and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to use the rest of the day to explore all Rome has to offer.
In the evening, join us for welcome drinks in the hotel bar, a perfect opportunity for solo travelers to meet like-minded runners. You can also use this day to collect your race bib from the expo – The Expo Village, Piazza John Kennedy, 1,00144 Roma RM.
DAY 2 – 5K SHAKEOUT RUN & SIGHTSEEING TOUR
In the morning, we will be leading a group 5 km shake-out run guided by your Sports Tours rep. We will then host a pre-race briefing to provide you with key details for the weekend, a breakdown of the marathon course, and what to expect on race day! The sightseeing walking tour is included in the package and will start mid-morning.
If you haven’t collected your race bib, your sports tours rep will escort you to the expo for pick up.
DAY 3 – ROME MARATHON RACE DAY
Today is race day! While you take on the marathon course, all friends and family are welcomed to the official Sports Tours cheer zone along the course. There will also be post race celebrations to celebrate your achievement.
In October 2020, FIDAL (Italian Federation of Athletics) made official that non-Italian citizens have the option to participate in marathons as competitive runners or as non-competitive runners. So there is no need for a medical certificate for athletes and a registration with runcard. The athletes will be starting as non-competitive runners, but their race time is valid, even if it will not be displayed in the general leaderboard; it will be available next to the athlete’s name in alphabetical order.
DAY 4 – DEPARTURE DAY
With so much to see and explore in Rome, you can spend today sightseeing and enjoying the city before traveling home.

I've had the incredible opportunity to travel with Sports Tours International to Berlin, Disney, Grandma's, and even Kiwah Island! Every single trip has been nothing short of amazing. From start to finish, it's a full experience, not just a race. The events are so fun,the shakeout runs are energizing, and the parties and team vibe are next-level. The team goes above and beyond to make sure every detail is taken care of, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy the ride (and the run!).

Traveled with Sports Tours for the Berlin Marathon. I was so pleased with the coordination and elimination about the worry about getting a lottery bib that we are now signed up for London with the Scotland extension. It's a little pricey but worth the investment. Top notch hotel centrally located with a great breakfast, great pre-race review and pleasant overall experience.
