The Lanzarote Legend Continues …

It’s back. Europe’s original, most iconic, and many would argue, toughest IRONMAN is making its long awaited return. The Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote 2021 is set to take place THIS Saturday!

This race frequently tops lists of the toughest long distance triathlons in the world. It has earned itself a place on the bucket lists of many triathletes seeking a once in a lifetime challenge. In 2018, it was even voted one of just four courses tougher than the World Championship course itself!

Often compared to that legendary course at Kailua Kona, the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote is renowned worldwide for its impressive, almost lunar landscapes, and clear blue waters. The island of Lanzarote itself is a UNESCO designated Biosphere Reserve. Here, you can see sights not found anywhere else on earth, such as the jagged black lava fields of Timanfaya National Park. The bike course offers stunning views throughout, but notably at El Golfo, La Geria, and Mirador del Rio. On the run, the glistening Atlantic ocean is never far from sight.

Much like Kona, the course of the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote is famed for its unique volcanic landscape, unforgiving hills, and punishing winds. This might not be a race for the faint-hearted. However, the incredible atmosphere is unbeatable. The ‘Club La Santa effect’ and the unrivaled support from the active lifestyles community of the island, really do put the Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote in a class of its own.

Chris Wild, 14 x Club La Santa IRONMAN Lanzarote Finisher
