PARIS MARATHON ROUTE

The Paris Marathon begins on the Champs-Élysées, just by the Arc de Triomphe, and heads downhill past the Place de la Concorde. Runners pass major landmarks like the Louvre, Palais Garnier, and Place de la Bastille within the first few kilometers. The course then continues into the Bois de Vincennes for a 10K loop before returning through Place de la Nation via Rue de Picpus. After re-entering the city, the course passes on the right bank of the Seine, passing under bridges and offering views of Pont Neuf and the Eiffel Tower. Around the 33 km mark, runners enter the Bois de Boulogne for a final wooded stretch before finishing on the Avenue Foch, near the Arc de Triomphe.

Though the route is mostly flat, runners encounter gentle hills in the second half, with a noticeable incline around 30-35 km (18-21 miles) before a downhill finish.
